Not even close. According to the Congressional Budget Office, debt held by the public will be approximately 77 percent of GDP at the end of 2016, and will increase to 86 percent of GDP by 2026. “At that level,” the CBO says in their August report, “debt held by the public, measured as a percentage of GDP, would be more than twice the average over the past five decades[.]"
